About Manchester, CT Pack 47
Pack 47 is chartered by the South United Methodist Church in Manchester, located at the corner of Main Street and Hartford Road. Originally chartered in 1954 we are the oldest cub scout pack in town.
We are members of the Hockanum District of the Connecticut Rivers Council, Boy Scouts of America.
Our Pack focuses on Scouts, their families, and having fun while we are learning! Cub Scouting members join a Cub Scout Pack and are assigned to a Den, a group of six to eight children who are in the same grade. The Scouts meet in Dens generally twice a month and participate in age appropriate activities designed to advance the scouts to the next rank.
Once a month, all of the dens and family members gather for a Pack meeting under the direction of a Cubmaster and the Pack Committee. Pack Meetings take place at South United Methodist Church in Cooper Hall on the last Thursday of the month. See Calendar of Events for exact dates.
Pack 47 participates in a wide variety of activities. We have two pack-wide campouts each year, a Halloween party, several community service projects, the Manchester Memorial Day Parade, a Pack Picnic as well as the famous Pinewood Derby.
Whatever it is that you enjoy, you'll have a chance to do it in Cub Scouting.
